Welcome to Through Tacey's Eyes
Through Tacey's Eyes
The vision of this site and subsequent creations started when I got so many comments on my blogs and email updates from friends and even people we had never met. They were all clamoring for me to put these writings into a book.
Photo and narrative keepsakes intended to show our appreciation to our many supportors evolved into the publications soon to be offered on this web site.
Never in my wildest dreams did I expect everything to fall into place as quickly and easily as it has! We are ready to begin traveling to share Tacey's story and our books. Wow!
Our Mission
Our family has been blessed in so many ways! Even though our experience has been devastating and sometimes very difficult, it has also been the most incredible, awesome experience in our lives! We have a better perspective on life and priorities. We truly believe our experiences have made us better people and who we are today.
Life has not been easy for Tacey, but her gifts and strengths will get her far in life. God gave her the determination, gifts and characteristics He knew she would need to be a success in life. As a nine-year old, Tacey influences lives on a daily basis. We stand in awe and amazement as we see God working through her. We tell Tacey God made her special so more people would see His goodness and find faith in Him.
It is the mission of our family to spread Tacey's story to any one we meet. We will travel to churches, conferences, meetings, small groups, large groups, homes, etc. to share Tacey's story. Tacey has a special gift of spreading hope, inspiration and faith to all who meet her.
Tacey and Horses
Tacey rode her first horse the week after she lost her sight. It was an instant new love! Tacey started riding horses any chance she got. She is very relaxed and comfortable in the saddle. In fact, at times she is a little too comfortable and wants more speed and spirit from her horse. This no fear attitude led her to want to start learning barrel racing.
The race was on for us to find the right horse. Most people cringed in fear at the thought of this small, blind child barrel racing! We knew with the right horse she could be a success.
God had started on this plan 14 years earlier when a very special thoroughbred was born, Hope Runs Deep. Hope ran 2 races on the track and came in last in both races. This ended his track racing career but started his barrel racing career. He was a champion barrel racer and was Tacey's ticket to to the rodeo scene.
Hope was only in our lives for one year, but made a significant impact on each of us. God sent him to be Tacey's special guardian. Now that Tacey is ready to move on to Western Pleasure, we are confident God will again send Tacey the perfect companion, guardian and friend!
